He is survived by: his wife Mary Mitchell; his children, Jennie Coats (Jeff) of Carlisle, IN, Lonnie Mitchell of Cloverdale, IN and Randall Mitchell (Tracy) of North Salem, IN; his siblings, Dorothy Bruce of Terre Haute, IN, John (Sandra) of Danville, IN, Roy Jr. "Booner" Mitchell (Jeanie) of Linton, IN and Carol Butler of Linton, IN; and his grandchildren, Melissa Ridgway (Curtis) of Carlisle, IN, Michael Coats (Rachel) of Greenwood, IN, Ben Mitchell (Hannah) of Rockville, IN, Megan Marie Drew (Ryan) of Carmel, IN, Megan Lynn Flatley (Kyle) of Westfield, IN, Ethan Mitchell (Trenna) of New Paris, IN, Morgan Hopkins (AJ) of Danville, IN, Army Soldier and Tyler Mitchell. He is also survived by brother, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
