She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Hobart Dowdy Jr. and Ruby Viola McCullough Dowdy; her brother David L. Dowdy; her husband James Laney of Clinton; her daughters, Kimberly Laney Everhart (James) of Terre Haute and Lori Laney Jacobs (David) of Clinton; her grandsons, Cody Jacobs (Mercedes), Brody Jacobs (Aarin), Wade Everhart (Tess) and Jordan Everhart (Veríssimo); her great grandchildren, Beau Jacobs, Juliette Jacobs, Ada Everhart and Walter Everhart; her sister Patricia Cartwright; and her sister-in-law Pam Troutt (Frank). She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
