He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Monts and Gertrude Monts (Goss); his wife Anna Easter; and his siblings, Patty Nelson, Ralph Monts, Betty Pence and Donnie Monts.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Thatcher (Gary) of Defiance, Brenda Kenworthy (Tom) of Clayton, Dawn Wolf (Don) of Marion, Elaine Parker of Clayton, Greg Monts (Julia) of Noblesville and Franklin Monts (Debbie) of Mooresville; and his siblings, Rose Whitton (Jack), Bill Monts, Ted Monts, Bob Monts, Sue Stepler (Gary) and Wanda Stepler. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
