She was predeceased by: her parents, Enos Akers and Ethelyn Akers; and her siblings, Marha Leslie, Raymond Akers, Ruth Carroll and Charles Akers.
She is survived by: her husband James Francis Joachim; her daughter Deborah Jones (Andrew); and her siblings, Elizabeth Mendenhall and Ralph Akers (Judy). She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
