He was predeceased by: his parents, Basil Steele and Eva Steele (Welch); his wife Helen Steele; his daughter Susie Gray; and his siblings, Russell Steele, Dale Steele, Albert Steele, Joann Brinson and Rita Demaree.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Steele (Bronwen) of Sydney, Australia, Barry Steele (Vicki) of Brookville, IN and Gwen LaRue (George) of Virginia; and his sister Glady Bee Hayes of Benham, IN. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
