He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert J. R. and Marjorie J. Gault (Sherwood); his wife Melody Nicholson; and his sons, Cory Gault (Kristin) and Tyler Gault (Caitlin). He was also cherished by six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Brookville United Methodist Church.
