He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Shelton and Violet Shelton (Harp); his daughter Debbie Arnett; and his sister Janice Copenhaver. He is survived by: his wife Louise Shelton; his children, Robert Wright, Bradley Shelton, Sandra Davis and Becca Collier; and his siblings, John Shelton, Paul Shelton and Tina Blackwell. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home and Crematory (4155 S Old State Rd 37, Bloomington, IN 47401). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (4155 S Old State Rd 37, Bloomington, IN 47401).
