She was predeceased by: her siblings, Marguerite Fortner Strickland, Juanita Fortner Krasover, Dorothy Fortner Brewington, Iona James Fortner Castagnola and Nermie Joyce Fortner Stubbs.
She is survived by: her children, Joly V Carney of Baton Rouge, LA, Malissa (Daniel Purvis) of Purmela, TX and Leona Carney of Rapid City, SD.; her niece Linda Mahrous (Ahmed) of Selina, TX; her grandchildren, Jonathan Purvis, Joshua Purvis, Desiree Purvis Price, Crissy Jones Fuller, Tommy Jones III and Cody Blue Carney; and her great grandchildren, Selena, Clinton, Cali, Serenity, Melodiee, Drevan and River.
