Gregory G. Hammons Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gregory G. Hammons of Austin, Indiana, born in Scottsburg, Indiana, who passed away on October 6, 2023, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his parents, Richard Hammons (Paulette) of Crothersville, Indiana and Wendy Hammons (Lawson) of Austin, Indiana; his wife Keri Hammons (Kerr); his son Eli Williams (Holli McNeeley) of Seymour, Indiana; his sisters, Tammy Hammons of Worthville and Lisa Hammons of Austin, Indiana; and his stepsister Peggy Bondowski of Crothersville, Indiana. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
While on the department, he helped with various fundraising efforts, organized an annual auction to raise money for the Crusade for Children, planned the yearly Thanksgiving dinner for the community, and coordinated an ongoing food giveaway during the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Crusade for Children in care of Buchanan Funeral Home.
