He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sturgeon and Iva Sturgeon (Hicks); his former wife Velda Sturgeon; his siblings, James Sturgeon, William Sturgeon, Barbara Chaney and Sue Sheffer; and his stepdaughter Rhonda Harshman.
He is survived by: his wife MaryAnn Sturgeon of Anderson; his sons, Fred Sturgeon (Pauline) of Decatur, AL and Robert Sturgeon (Margie) of Pendleton, IN; his stepdaughter Beth Parnell of Greenwood, IN; his grandchildren, David Sturgeon of Muncie, IN, Ben Sturgeon (Tyniquo) of Pendleton, IN and Bethany Eichhorn (Kyle) of Pendleton, IN; his stepgranddaughters, Nikki Dodd and Diane Hill; his great grandchildren, Alayna, Adalyn Eichhorn and Clara Sturgeon of Pendleton, IN; and his sisters-in-law, Cora Sturgeon and Rowena Brough. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's name may be gifted to the Skin Cancer Foundation.
