She was predeceased by: her parents, James and Lucy Grubbs Sr.; her husband Guy Carpenter Jr.; her brothers, Elbert, Robert, Ray and James Grubbs; and her granddaughter Jessica Lynne Carpenter.
She is survived by: her children, Charlie Carpenter (Dottie) of Elgin and Charlene Deschamp (Wayne) of Zion, Illinois.; her grandchildren, Christina Cozart (Leroy), Heather Kirby (Brad), Amy Lyerly (Tyler), Sarah Kallies (Ryan), Ashley Freeman, Jason Freeman, Andrew Carpenter and Caroline Carpenter; her stepgrandchildren, Miranda Naftel (Jeff), Adam Flora (Mallory) and Chad Flora (Kayla); her great grandchildren, Kiley Nichols, Noah Kirby, Gavin Kallies, Savanna Kirby, Grayson Spencer, Yates Lyerly and Cora Lyerly; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Natalie Naftel, Allison Naftel, Bryson Flora, Josiah Flora and Parker Flora.
