He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Buchanan, Sr. and Lena Mae Buchanan. He is survived by: his sons, Lonnie Buchanan, Jr. and Jalon Buchanan; his siblings, Robert Buchanan Jr., Vermel Buchanan-Jones (Ronald), Rose Buchanan and Eva Buchanan; his nieces and nephews, Marcus Buchanan, James Graham, Jr., Jessica Buchanan, Robert Buchanan III, Autumn Madden, Jo'Rial Edwards, LaJoy Edwards, Jada Pink, Mekhia Bunch, Mekhi Bunch and My'Lena Bunch; his uncle Joe Buchanan; and his close friends, Maurice White and Victor Ransom. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
