It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Colwell of Zion, Illinois, who passed away on August 18, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eunice Richards Colwell and William Evans Colwell; his siblings, Florence Colwell Rusch, Gerald Evans Colwell, Arnold Gale Colwell and Arthur Dale Colwell; and his great grandchild Simon Podejko.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bennett; his children, Dale Colwell (Elizabeth), Pam Walters (Jerry), Tom Colwell (Janet) and Kathy Thomas (Terry); his grandchildren, Rick Colwell (Paula), Jennifer Gerbig (Scott), John Colwell (Kelly), Sara Podejko (Derek), Jason Colwell, Michael Colwell (Julie), Ross Walters, Marty Thomas (MariKate), Mandy Hutchison (Gavin) and Landon Thomas (Emily); and his brother William Colwell.
