He was predeceased by: his wife Nina Pauley Sheffield; his parents, Charles C. Sheffield and Elva Porter Sheffield; and his siblings, Vineard, Lester, Bernard, Doren, Vivian, Lillian and Carmen.
He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Sheffield; and his former wife Sylvia Flinchbaugh. He is also survived by step-children and there family, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
