He was predeceased by: his siblings, Nathanial, Jacob and Ginger; and his nephews, Zachary and Daniel.

He is survived by: his parents, Ronald Peterson and June Peterson (Cain); his siblings, Ethan Peterson of Wyoming, Matt Peterson (Jen) of Itasca, IL and Rebecca Heck of Kewanee; his nieces and nephews, Jacob, Allie, Nate, Andy, Ethel, Lexy, Simon, Benjamin, Matthew Jr. and Michael; his great-niece Lila; and his nephew Chad Jr. (Bob Heck).
