She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walter Wendt and Helen Wendt; her husband Paul Wackenhuth; her children, Andrea Morenz (Scott), Tim Wackenhuth and Laura Nicklin (Joel); and her grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyler, Skyler, Jonah, Andrew, Ashden, Emmaleigh, Samuel, Scott and Ryan.
She worked for many years at The Classmate educational supply store and as education coordinator at the Chicagoland Lutheran Educational Foundation (CLEF).
