He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Payne and Lydia Payne (Steinke); his brothers, Cecil, Richard, Harold and Ronnie; and his siblings-in-law, Alfred and Dorothy Schuld.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Payne; his sons, Curtis Payne (Marta) and Don Payne (Rebeca); and his brother David Payne (Marie). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
