He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Blakey and Rosella Blakey (Hodge); his brothers, Duane, Timothy, Rodney and David Blakey; and his nephew Bryan Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Debra Blakey (Shelton); his sons, Michael Blakey (Verbal) of Saint Louis, Matthew Blakey of Marion and Mark Blakey (Chrissy) of Algonquin, Illinois; his stepchildren, Jacqueline Withrow (Steve) of Bluford, Nickolas Tannahill and Maria Foehner of Chatham, Illinois; his grandchildren, Justin Blakey, Jayden Blakey, Jackson Blakey, Nina Blakey, Brittney Withrow, Conner Withrow and Benjamin Withrow; and his sisters, Donna Gibbs (Vincent) of Fults and Brenda Wedel (John) of O'Fallon, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Darrell's honor to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and will be received at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
