He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell Bratten and Minna Bratten (Glaser); his former wives, Louise VanHooser of Edwardsville and Priscilla Shaw of Jerseyville; his wife Betty McKenney of Jerseyville; and his siblings, Emil Bratten (Bud), Walter Bratten, George Bratten, Maxwell Bratten, William Bratten (Bill), Anna Farrell, Helen Albrecht and Emma Kipp.
He is survived by: his son Stephen; his daughter-in-law Lisa Bratten of Bunker Hill; his daughters, Susan Ingram, Sarah Bratten and Sandra Rigdon; his grandchildren, Misty Bratten of Arizona, Stephen Bratten, Jr. of Arizona, Emily Bratten of Bunker Hill, Isabelle Bratten of Bunker Hill, Andrew Bratten of Bunker Hill, Sammy Ingram, Bene Rigdon and Megan Rutherford; and his sister-in-law Delores "Toots" Bratten. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
