We are sad to announce that on December 12, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Eugene F. Smith (Wood River, Illinois), born in Mattoon, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan L. Smith and Grace V. Smith (Gentry); his former wives, Doris Vieregge and Helen Estelene Bradford; his wife Edna Waltrip; and his siblings, Marjorie, Ivan Jr. and Robert Smith.
He is survived by: his daughter Kriste; his son-in-law Cecil Wade of Rosewood Heights; his son Richard; his daughter-in-law Sharon Smith of Staunton; and his stepchildren, Edith (Ron Baggett) of Roxana and Terry (Gaye Waltrip) of Richmond. He is also survived by four grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great – great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
