He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sr. O'Brien and Gerry O'Brien; and his brother James. He is survived by: his wife Patricia O'Brien; his children, John O'Brien (Theresa), Therese O'Brien, Timothy O'Brien (Ellen) and Carmel Brennan (Dylan); his grandchildren, Jack, Nora, Isabel, Riley, James and Daniel; and his siblings, Robert O'Brien Jr. (Rita), Nancy Kehoe (Richard), Susan Lodge and Laurie Bauer (Joseph).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to COCE Children Outreach & Community Empowerment, Inc.
