He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Schierer and Mary Schierer (Sarna); his brothers, Kenneth and Ronald Schierer; and his nephew Timothy Clam.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Schierer of St. Charles and Mark (Rebecca) of Kildeer, IL; his grandchildren, Gabriella and Paxon Schierer; his sister Rosemary Clam (Jim) of Carbondale, IL; and his former wife Jo Schierer of St. Charles. He is also survived by many relatives and friends.
