He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Sidner Carson and Howard Short; his wife Albertine Carson; his daughters, Connie Jean Carson and Inez Marie Carson Walker; his son-in-law Floyd Walker; his grandmother Carrie Butler Miles; his great-aunts, Leola Butler Young and Lois Butler Dale; his sister Inez Carson Shaw; his children-in-law, Danny R Curtis and Celeste Carson; his great grandchild Jada Amina Hansberry; and his great great grandchildren, Taylin and Tayden Curtis.

He is survived by: his children, Deborah Weekly (Carlos) of Florence, AZ, Denise Curtis of Wheaton, IL, Candace Fisher of Fort Wayne, IN, LaShunda Glover (Jordall), Howard Carson (Ann) of Wheaton, IL, Kenneth Carson of Los Angeles, CA and Victor Carson (Rebecca) of Downers Grove, IL; and his stepdaughters, Jacqueline Bunker and Jennifer Bunker. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
