He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Shumaker and Opal Shumaker; and his sisters, Shirley Jean Shumaker, Julia Williams, Linda Mitchell and Marilyn Erwin.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Stewart; his sons, John R. Shumaker (Karen) of Godfrey and Jason L. Shumaker (Lori) of Waverly; his grandchildren, Blake Shumaker (Brittany), Cameron Shumaker, Jessica Kesinger (Bennet), James Theodore "Ted" Shumaker and Marlee Shumaker; and his great grandchildren, Brantley Shumaker and Barrett Shumaker. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
