We are sad to announce that on September 11, 2021, at the age of 82, James M. Butler of Washington, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Scantland Butler and Phyllis Butler (Johnston); his former wife Tanya Scheerer; his son Patrick Butler of Chicago, IL; and his siblings, Greg Butler of Peoria, IL and Jackie Norwood (Tom) of Spring, TX.
He is survived by: his former wife Judy Byrd; his wife Catherine Rees; his children, Brenda Smith (Michael) of Peoria, IL and Jay Butler (Chris Sinclair) of Eugene, OR; his stepson Matt Byrd of Washington, IL; his grandsons, Erik and Tyler Smith of Peoria, IL; and his siblings, Janice Berry (Norm) of Monument, CO, Mike Butler (Elsa) of Pekin, IL and Bob Butler of Peoria, IL.. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Endowment Fund, the American Heart Association, or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
