He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Chepan and Mary Chepan (Sargent); his son Scott Chepan; his stepchildren, Skyler Pearce and Shelli Shoop; and his brother Edwin.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Higginbotham; his son Allen Chepan (Laura); and his grandchildren, Dara, Caitlin, Samantha, Barry, Kevin and Nicole.
