It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Gauwitz of Washington, Illinois, born in Lacon, Illinois, who passed away on February 23, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur C. Gauwitz and Virginia Gauwitz (Vest); and his brothers, Archie Gauwitz and Hank Gauwitz. He is survived by: his wife Linda G. Smith of Washington; his daughters, Dawn Meierkord (Barry) of Varna, Denise Watkins (Phil) of Chillicothe and Janice Adami of Varna; his grandchildren, Erica Walin, Colton Watkins and Monika Janssen (Ben); his great grandchildren, Isaac Pavesich, Enzo Schick and Aria Romanassi; and his siblings, Roger Gauwitz (Marlene) of Lacon, Judy Hoskins of Boulder City, NV and Mary Gauwitz of Phoenix, AZ..
