He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Alexander and Frances Patricia Murphy (Lopez); his siblings, William Ross Murphy, Jessie Reves and Patricia Peterson; and his brothers-in-law, Keith Nelson and Mike McClain.
He is survived by: his wife Connie Murphy of Walnut Hill; his children, Brittany Ott (Justin) of Middletown, Gerald Murphy, Jr. of Centralia, Cora Lundgreen-Murphy of Centralia, Beth Bourque of Centralia and Josh Bourque of Centralia; his grandchildren, Tristan Riddle, Wyatt Marshall, Kaleb Marshall and Breanna Murphy; his stepchildren, Tim Ramsey of Centralia, Bobby Alli of Centralia, Carol Smith of Centralia and Tara Ramsey of Centralia; his stepgrandchildren, Austin Ramsey, Logan Ramsey, Courtney Alli, Eddie Meyers, David Meyers, Cara Dunahee and Robbie Dunahee; his sisters, Toni McClain of Arkansas, Bobbie Frye (Wayne) of Lincoln and Flo Stamm (Dale) of Indiana; his siblings-in-law, Dennis Peterson of Mount Pulaski, Dennis Reves of Lincoln, Robert Nelson of Kansas, Sherry Easley (Jon) of Iuka, Martha Currie of Mt. Vernon and Dreatha Jackson of Mississippi; and his father-in-law Robert Nelson (Elaine) of Kell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
