With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sharon Hyland of Urbana, Illinois, born in Champaign, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2020 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Lee Ball and Ellen H. Robinett Ball Douglas; her stepfather Robert S. Douglas; her brothers, Ronald H. Ball and David L. Ball; her nephew-in-law Kevin Peters; and her husband Jake Hyland.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Jeff Hyland (Annie) of Clarendon Hills, IL and Judy Hyland of Gordon, CT.; her grandchildren, Heather Hyland Madden (Mick), Holly Hyland, Jake Hyland, Megan Shaffer (Bobby) and John Wustman (Lauren); her great grandchildren, Finn Madden, Lucas Shaffer, Johnny and Avery Wustman; her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ball of Savoy and Susan Ball of Columbia; her nieces and nephews, Michael Ball (Laurie Vial) of Champaign, Peggy Ball of Savoy, Brian Ball (Sharon) of Dewey, Nathan Ball of Columbia, MD and Liz Ball (Paul Foisy) of Columbia, MD; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Megan Ball Heath (Todd) of Tolono, Jamie Ball of Bement, Kyle Ball of Champaign, Amanda Peters of Ogden, Andrea Ray (Troy) of St. Joseph, Josh Peters of Jupiter, FL, Claire Benjamin (Henry Fineberg) of Urbana, Neal Benjamin (Rich Dunn) of Bloomington, Abbie and Alex Ball; her pet Alley; and also, Joshua, Landyn and Jamison Heath of Tolono.
She kept in touch with her friends from high school and they continued to be good friends and had lunch together for years, until recently when the Covid-19/Coronavirus pandemic prevented it.
