He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Skinner and Mildred Skinner (Nance); and his siblings, Rosie Smith, Jessie Pruitt, Ralph Skinner and Roy Skinner.

He is survived by: his wife Carmeline Skinner of Taylorville, IL; his children, Melissa Nation (Scott Grundy) of Taylorville, IL and Gary Skinner (Lisa Merrifield) of Owaneco, IL; his grandson Brian Murphy II (Brittany Reincke); his children, Emily Henry (Jordan) and Kerry Vacker (Christian); his great grandchild Trenton Murphy; his grandchildren, Hudson Murphy, Arwyn Henry, Jensen Henry and Theseus Vacker; and his sister-in-law Gloria Pumphery. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials in Wesley's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Christian County Animal Control.
