With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael A. Assalley of Taylorville, Illinois, born in Bloomington, Illinois, who passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 38. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Frank E. Assalley and Kent L. Koehler; and his close friend Zachary Fish of Effingham, IL. He is survived by: his parents, William "Bill" Assalley and Carolyn Assalley (Koehler) of Taylorville; his wife Lauren E. Assalley (Sanders) of Taylorville; his children, Ila Belle Assalley, Vincent Francis Kent Assalley and John William Assalley; his parents-in-law, Debbie Sanders of Watson, IL and Derek Sanders of Newton, IL; his sisters, Lauren Layton (Wesley) of Ypsilanti, MI and Sydney Assalley (Dillon Williams) of Ypsilanti, MI; his siblings-in-law, Nikki Vahling (Richard) of Teutopolis, IL and Logan Sanders; his goddaughter Aubrey Vahling; his grandmothers, Jacquelyn Assalley of Peru, IL and Linda Koehler of Peru, IL; and his uncle Robert H. Assalley. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to an educational fund for Mike & Lauren's children, c/o Lauren Assalley. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Michael A. Assalley 's name.
