He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Fairfield and Katie Fairfield (Medley); his wife Phyllis M. Powell; and his siblings, Samuel, Ralph Eugene, Charles, Robert Fairfield and Mable Beatrice "Bea" Fandrey.
He is survived by: his children, Zachary Fairfield of Bourbonnais, IL, Tammy Ray (Gary) of Cleveland, TN, Jessica Crabtree (Michael) of Shelbyville, IL and Katie Dandurand (Joshua) of Strasburg, IL; his grandchildren, Russell Fairfield of Effingham, IL and Kimber Jackson of Strasburg, IL; his great grandchildren, Tristan, Kira Fairfield of Effingham, IL, Peyton, Skylar, Kylee Dandurand of Strasburg, IL, Leah Long of Strasburg, IL, Alessa Long of Strasburg, IL, Hunter Long of Strasburg, IL and Eli Jackson of Strasburg, IL; and his siblings, Flora Harris of Metropolis, IL and Roy Dale Fairfield (Peggy) of Brookport, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
