He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Bitsy" Lanphier; his sons, John Beard (Teresa) of Springfield, Tom Beard of Springfield and Pete Beard (Carrie) of Springfield; his grandchildren, Elizabeth "Libi" Beard of Springfield, Liliana "Lili" Beard of Chicago, Marina Rosebrock of Redondo Beach, CA, Joseph "Max" Beard of Springfield and James "Gus" Beard of Springfield; his sister-in-law Susan "Suzy" Kelley of Springfield; and his nieces, Sherri Gibbs, Linda Whitt and Cindy Dickson. He is also survived by several nephews and cousins.
