He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard H. Poynter and Ann Whalen (German); and his nephew Andy Suberkropp. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Poynter of Springfield; his daughters, Eve Barrs (Christopher) of Riverside, IL, Emily Jenkins (Mike) of Monticello, IL and Jane Zahora (Jeremy) of Palatine, IL; his grandchildren, Robin, Teddy Barrs, Henry, William Jenkins, Grace, Zoey and Charlie Zahora; his brother-in-law Keller Suberkropp (June) of New Mexico; his niece Sandy; his nephews, Mike and Jeff; his great-nieces, Krissy and Pam; and his great-nephew Ben.
