Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Newman (Savoy, Illinois), born in Canton, Illinois, who passed away at the age of 91, on March 8, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Miller and Pearl Miller (Solomon); and her brother Raymond (Dixie). She is survived by: her brother Harold George (Louise); her husband Richard; her children, David of Madison, WI, Jeffry (Claire) and Carol (Bradley Wardwell); her grandsons, Clayton Wardwell of Sebastapol, CA, Spencer Wardwell and D. C. of Washington; and her nieces and nephews, Annette Park (John), Charles, Craig, Cary Miller, Sherri Newman and Jon (Debbie).
Due to the Pandemic, there will be a private burial service at Mt. Hope Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will he held in the future.
She served as director of information for both the Lincoln Heritage Trail Foundation and the International Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus.
