He was predeceased by: his father Michael Dewayne; his sister Charity Whitman; and his uncle O. J. Bartlow. He is survived by: his mother Shelley Whitman (Bartlow); his wife Nina Whitman; his children, Blaise Michael Whitman, Leo Dewayne Whitman and Synthia Pruitt; his grandson Anthony; his siblings, Sarah Whitman, Brianna Beagle, Jeremy Sibley, Tameka Vickery, Landon Whitman, Jason Whitman, Angela and Stephanie Whitman; his nieces, Mystique Whitman, Trinity Reese and Anna Brooke Sibley; his aunt Cindy Guthrie; and his great-nephew Haydon Whitman.
