He was predeceased by: his wife Liz; his parents, Beatrice 'Evelyn' and Alvin Doyle Thorn; his stepfather Les Thorn; his brother Alvin 'Johnnie Doyle Thorn; his nephew David James Thorn; and his daughter Michelle Kalas.
He is survived by: his children, Darren Becker (Pam), Kelley Thorn, Ellen Cody (Dan) and Joe Thorn (Jennifer). He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
