He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Houk and Irene Houk; his wife Lucia A. Houk; his brother Glen; and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Houk and Dingena Glenzinski.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Hinrichs (Rick), Maria Smith (Brad) and Jackie Houk (Dana); his sisters, Joanne Grubbs (Ron) and Janis Fortin (Gary); his grandchildren, Ashley Brooks (Travis), Corey Groff (Andrew), Whitney Gonzalez (Herman), Michael Hinrichs (Bree), Rebecca Hinrichs (James), Lucy Houk and Hazel Houk; his great grandchildren, Valkyrie, Aries, Alayna and Lucia; and his in-laws, John Ooijen (Gunda), Antonia Varney (Al), Adrianna Zimmerman (Denny), Antonius Ooijen (Lorita), Petronella Widler, Cornelius Ooijen (Doris) and Margaret Lemke (Ken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
