He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Miles Smith, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Pape-Smith; his spouses, Beatrice L. Simmons and Sylvia Ebert; his children, Donna Carson (George) of Colchester, Diana Keever (Roger) of Kirkwood, Bill Smith of Gladstone, Bruce Smith (Anita) of Biggsville and Brian Smith (Chrissy) of Rural Kirkwood; his grandchildren, Dana Ross (Ron), Deana Twenhafel (Mark), Kari Hall (Will), Shana Kennon (Brett), Alicia Mitchell (Gavin) and Brandy Howell (R. K.); and his brother Jim Smith of Dubuque. He was also cherished by thirteen great-grandchildren.
