He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alice Scales and Victor Scales; his siblings, David Scales (Maggie), Linda Thurman (Wayne) and Danelle Leslie (Scott); and his friend Ken Carter. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
