He is survived by: his father Camilo Sotelo of Rock Falls; his sons, Nathan Sotelo and Michael Sotelo; his siblings, Rueben Sotelo, John Sotelo (Debbie), Rene Sotelo (Kendra), Mark Sotelo (Christine Bushman), Mario Sotelo (Sue), Lisa Lawson (Bill), Sonia Matznick (Danny) and Rosanna Simester; and his grandson Khail Sotelo.
