Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joel Canas of Rock Falls, Illinois, born in La Feria, Texas, who passed away at the age of 87, on September 22, 2021. He was predeceased by: his parents, Epigmenio Canas and Erlinda Garcia; his siblings, Lupe Rodriguez, Romero Canas and Leandro Canas; and his grandson Eric Lee Lule.

He is survived by: his children, Joel, Jr. Canas (Cathy), Alberto Canas, Oscar Canas, Jody Canas, Mary A. Gutierrez (Faustino), Juanita Garcia (Abel), RoseMary Canas, Linda Canas, Sylvia O'Bryan and Amelia Canas. He is also survived by 19 grandsons; 10 granddaughters; approximately 15 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
