With heavy hearts, we announce the death of LaVera Prunty of Rochelle, Illinois, born in Hildreth, Nebraska, who passed away on November 13, 2023 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ludwig "Lou" Ruhs and Johanna "Helen" Ruhs (Post); her husband Robert "Bob" C. Prunty, Jr.; her brother Orvel "Bud" Ruhs; and her great grandchild Campbell.
She is survived by: her sister Lorna Butler of Tulsa, OK; her children, Randi Vilks (John) of Omaha, NE, Lee Prunty (Jane) of Rochelle, IL, Lynn Prunty (Deb Patten) of Sioux Rapids, IA and Lori Patterson (Dan Powless) of Malta, IL; and her grandchildren, Paul Prunty (Carla Stec) of Birmingham, AL, Dejaka' Bachman (Sean) of Des Moines, IA, Linley Byrnes (Joseph) of Flagstaff, AZ, Mariah Davidson of Chicago, IL, Daniel Patterson (Caitlin) of Minneapolis, MN, Casey Patterson of Rochelle, IL, John Patterson (Kelly) of Amboy, IL, Chad Huebner (Shanda) of Sioux Rapids, IA and Sherri Giese (Tyler) of Slayton, MN. She is also survived by her 18 great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rochelle, IL.
