He was predeceased by: his parents, William Atkinson and Inez Atkinson (Cantrell); his son Johnny Lee Atkinson; his siblings, Irene Forristall, May Pierce, Donald Atkinson, Lester Atkinson and Ray Atkinson; his son-in-law Paul Goldman; and his great grandchild Dakota Piper.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Capes; his children, Susan LeMay (Mark) of Hillcrest, Cindy Goldman of Ashton and David Atkinson of Oregon, IL; his grandchildren, John Vaughn (Trisha), Christi Batsch (Dan), Amber Schuster (James), Amy Goldman (Jason Breeden), William "Bo" Goldman, Emily Goldman, John David Atkinson (Mandy) and Mandi Atkinson; and his siblings, Grover Atkinson, Andy Atkinson (Laura) and Louella Blackburn (Doug). He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
