He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Edward Smith, Sr. and Ghloe Irene Smith (Higgins); his siblings, Norma Rice, Otis Carl Smith, Charles Edward Smith, Otto Burl Rich, Jesse David Smith and Donald Ray Smith; and his grandson Ben Snell.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Joann Whitmer; his son Harold; his daughter-in-law Amber Smith; his granddaughters, Brandi Smith (Harrison Toothman) and Brittani Snell; and his sisters, Josephine Attaway, Marjorie Denton, Barbara Sharp, Shirley Warren and Betty Ulrey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to "Warriors2US", an organization that provides a recreational working camp for veterans and first responders who need occasional camaraderie, helping to minimize stress and environmental conflict issues.
