He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Phoenix and Marilyn Phoenix (Wisocki). He is survived by: his children, Don Phoenix III (Erica) of Houston, TX, Megan Denk (Ryan) of Rockford, Jeff Phoenix (Marcie) of Rockford and Julie Phoenix; and his siblings, Pam Priebe (Charlie), James Phoenix (Diane) and Brad Phoenix (Sallie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
