He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley D. Prater and Bessie K. Dotson Prater; and his pet Remus. He is survived by: his wife Haroldine "Carol" Prater of Pleasant Hill; his children, Philip Prater, Paula Goewey (Ronnie W.) of Pittsfield and Crystal Prater of Pesotum; his granddaughter Gretchen Goewey (David Hecox); his great grandchildren, Dawson Goewey, Waylon and Zoey Hecox; and his pet Duke. He is also survived by three sisters, one brother, numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the New Hartford Christian Church or to the family.
