He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold D. Cress and Eva Lela Wombles Cress; and his siblings, Marie Lawson, Ray Marshall and Walter "Dub" Cress.
He is survived by: his daughters, Dawn Cress Crowder of Tampa, FL and Tracy Overstreet of Tampa, FL; his grandchildren, Ryan Smith of Pleasant Hill, Cassie Smith of St. Petersburg, FL, Carly Rosecrans of Tampa, FL, Sara Overstreet of Tampa, FL and Annie Castellano of Tampa, FL; his great grandchildren, Hannah, Henry Smith, Joseph, Amelia, Alana Castellano, Delilah Lindsey and Tilly Davidson; and his sister Jean Graham of Rockport. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
