Steven Scott Shirley Obituary
PEKIN ~ Steven Scott Shirley, 66, of Pekin, passed away at 7:43 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home.
He was born June 17, 1957 in Pekin to Chester and Geneive (Scott) Shirley. His mother survives.
Surviving are his mother, Geneive Garrard of Simpson; one son, Jesse (Rachel) Shirley of Pekin; three grandchildren, Maximus, Norah and Veda, all of Pekin and close family friends, Eileen and Jack Lash of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jack Garrard; one son, Gordon Shirley and his maternal grandparents, Verda and Aubrey Scott.
Steven was a jack of all trades and loved working on motorcycles. He had worked at Phat Jax Custom Cycle in Pekin, retiring in 2007. He also played guitar, harmonica and sang in many local bands. Steven took up ranching in New Mexico as well.
A gathering celebrating Steven's life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday March 16, 2024 at the Pekin Moose Family Center #916. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
