With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Jean Wendland of Pekin, Illinois, born in Burlington, Washington, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 2, 2024 at the age of 96. She is survived by: her nieces, Valerie Bushong of Groveland and Cheryl Martinez (Dave) of South Pekin; her nephew Scott Bushong (Theresa) of Pekin; and her great-nephews, Branden Bushong (Lacey) of South Pekin, Cody Cornwell (Arielle) of East Peoria, Joe Martinez (Holly) of Mackinaw and Beau Bushong (Brianna) of Tennessee.
